Born in Bulgaria, Hayriye Karakaya graduated from the Department of Biology at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Science and Letters, following her high school education. She completed her master’s degree in Histology and Embryology at the Institute of Health Sciences, Istanbul University, with a thesis titled “The Effects of Nitric Oxide Isoforms in Human Normospermia, Oligospermia, and Asthenospermia Groups.”
She completed the practical and theoretical training program on “Assisted Reproductive Treatment Applications” determined by the Turkish Ministry of Health at Yeditepe University Hospital and earned the title of Embryology Laboratory Supervisor.
After working at leading assisted reproductive treatment centers in Türkiye, Karakaya served as the Embryology Laboratory Supervisor at Euro IVF Reproductive Center in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus between 2014 and 2024, gaining extensive clinical experience in egg and sperm donation processes.
An active member of professional organizations such as ESHRE, ASRM, TSRM, and KED, Karakaya is fluent in English and Bulgarian. As of January 2026, she has been serving as Clinical Operations Manager / Senior Embryologist at Phoenix IVF Center.
